Police said BNP Rock was shot dead at Roscoe Chicken and Waffles in Los Angeles


Los Angeles Police Chief Michael Moore said Tuesday that rapper BNP rock was shot dead during a robbery in Los Angeles on Monday.

Police responded to a possible burglary at the Roscoe House of Chicken in Waffles on West Manchester Avenue at 1:15 p.m. by finding a victim with multiple gunshot wounds, LAPD Cpt. Kelly Muniz said during a news conference Monday evening.

Moore confirmed that the victim was identified as Rakim Allen, also known as BNP Rock, during a meeting Tuesday with the Los Angeles Board of Police Commissioners.

“Just yesterday there was a high-profile murder that took place at a local restaurant in the southeast with the participation of a music artist by the name of PnB Rock,” Moore said.

“It seems that Mr. Rakim Allen was there with his girlfriend or a friend and they are there enjoying a simple meal, [Allen] He was brutally attacked by someone who we believe, apparently, came to the site after posting on social media the artist and the woman accompanying him. ”

Moore said a photo of the couple’s meal was posted on Instagram, tagging the site. He said that a black man attacked the rapper in the restaurant, and demanded his property. Moore said PnB Rock “had a large amount of jewelry and other valuables.”

After a verbal exchange, the suspect shot the victim multiple times and fled in a getaway car in an unknown direction, according to Muniz. The victim was taken to a local hospital and died at 1:59 p.m., according to Muniz. She said no one is in custody, and there is not much information about the suspect at this point.

“Mr. PnB Rock was shot and killed and lost his life there, simply because of his jewelry and valuables,” Moore said. “Our investigation is ongoing. There have been a large number of cameras and investigative leads that we will be pursuing to resolve this case.”

The famous Los Angeles restaurant offered its condolences to the rapper in Her Facebook page.

“His death represents a great loss for each of us,” the post read. “Our deepest condolences, thoughts and prayers go out to the Allen family at this difficult time. The safety of our employees and guests is our top priority. We have and will continue to keep our workplace as safe as possible.”

The news of PnB Rock’s death sent shockwaves through the hip-hop community.
