For decades, America has embraced the rhetorical question”Are you ready to play football? All of our naughty friends came over on Monday night. We waited all day on Sunday night too. But when it comes to Thursdays, I’ve never really felt like the NFL’s been like date TV for that long. More TV he might watch rather than TV he should watch.
A mental checklist was made in my mind before I completely immersed myself in the experience. Ask related questions such as:
- Is it a fun game?
- Do I need to keep up with work?
- Did you make previous plans?
- Shouldn’t I be doing something more productive like winterizing my house, re-upholstering my couch, or trying to solve a murder than this real crime podcast?
Watching the NFL is usually fun, but Thursday night football Sometimes it was killing noise. Blame it on the moral conundrum of whether or not players should risk their bodies on such a short rest. Blame it on the seemingly endless show Jacksonville Jaguars vs Tennessee Titans matches. Blame the ugly costume color rush.
For a long time, the NFL TNF factor like a cash grab gimmick, so it was difficult to muster much enthusiasm. It’s easy to start apathy when you feel like the thing you love doesn’t love you back. Damn you, NFL! Don’t take my love for granted. Show a little effort, as I used to at the beginning of our beautiful relationship.
But recently something has changed. I am happy to report that I slowly and unexpectedly fell in love with TNF. It was not instantaneous. It cannot refer to a specific moment or game. However, I feel very dizzy to see the regular season debut of Amazon Exclusive national broadcast online only on Prime Video.

This is not your older brother’s TNF. It’s a first trip. LIVE ONLY (Out of live streams in the teams’ local markets) Game rush featuring two potential Super Bowl contenders and two of the league’s top quarterbacks. The Los Angeles Chargers Opposite Kansas City Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes vs. Justin Herbert.
The NFL is clearly showing you that they care. TNF’s opener last year was the New York Giants against the Washington Soccer team. See the next schedule. There is no potential clunker on Thursday until Week 6 (Washington Leaders vs. Chicago Bears) or possibly Week 10 (Atlanta Falcons vs. Carolina Panthers).
Not on the horizon for a Jacksonville v. Tennessee meet. Praise the Lord.
As much as I’d like to go back to the new partnership with Amazon to lead the NFL up their game when it comes to their games, the league has made an effort to improve the TNF product in recent years with more engaging matches. And the While players may hate Thursday’s matchesexist There is no concrete evidence that playing these games is more dangerous than regular Sundays.
Players may complain, but TNF means more money and more exposure. And imagine what? You could make the argument that the best game for the 2021 regular season was the Chiefs’ win in overtime on Thursday against the Chargers.

that was awesome. We can only hope this Thursday will be totally fun. Thursday night football never be Sunday Night FootballAnd maybe not until Monday Night Football. But it could be its own version of something special.
America’s appetite for the NFL seems insatiable. That’s why the regular season expanded to 17 games last season. That’s why the playoffs were expanded by two teams two years ago. If there is a saturation point, we have not yet reached it. And when the football season is over we miss him very much.
For many adults, the day after the Super Bowl equates to feeling like a kid the day after Christmas.
It took a while, but I learned to love Thursday night football. Imperfections and everything, I will watch every match.
